The brief
Ink Nation had the content — video, a 19-artist roster, a real Midtown presence. What they had along with it was a homepage that weighed 1.7 gigabytes. On a phone, on a subway, that isn't a slow site. That's a site nobody ever sees.
Nobody waits 1.7 gigabytes to look at a tattoo. The content was never the problem — the delivery was.
What got built
The rebuild kept everything and cut the weight by roughly 35×. Video was re-encoded and served at the size it actually displays at instead of full source resolution. Images moved to modern formats with real dimensions. Assets below the fold load when they're approached, not all at once on arrival. All 19 artists kept their profiles and live Instagram links.
